Soft-ex, Ireland’s leading provider of Voice Management Solutions and IP Hosted Voice Services for the SME and Enterprise markets, today announced the appointment of Ian Sparling to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Sparling, who joined Soft-ex in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, brings widespread experience in corporate management and the telecommunications industry to the role and has been instrumental in driving recent Soft-ex successes, delivering substantial year-on-year growth.
In his new role, he will oversee international operations, sales, marketing, human resources, engineering, customer advocacy and product development. Sparling will focus his efforts on leading Soft-ex strategy in the channel and enterprise markets with IP Hosted services and solutions, while continuing to expand into new overseas markets.
Following his appointment Mr Sparling commented: “This is an exciting time in the telecommunications industry as we see a resurgence of activity on the back of both fixed-mobile convergence and the arrival of VoIP technology. A native of Dublin, Sparling holds a BComm from UCD and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He held a number of senior positions with Fitzwilton Plc before joining Soft-ex five years ago.
