Soft-ex yields significant savings and 6 month ROI for FTSE 100
company with the implementation of Optimiser TEM hosted service
across 50 sites.
The Company:
The client is a premier global defence and aerospace company
delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and
naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, information
technology solutions and customer support services. With 97,500
employees worldwide, their sales exceeded £15.7 billion (US$ $31.4
billion) in 2007. They rank as the 3rd largest global defence
company with customers in over 100 countries.
The Challenge:
The key requirement for this enterprise customer was to source an
advanced telecom expense and usage management solution to create a
more efficient business model to:
• reduce the cost of ongoing telecoms operations
• create visibility
• apportion costs to business units
• improve customer service
• enhance infrastructure performance
• maintain a secure voice network in a centralised hosted
environment.
Specifically they required one solution to review high volumes of
multiple carrier invoices and charge them back across the entire
organisation in an accurate and equitable manner. The client
required validation and reconciliation capabilities for their
carrier bill management. They had also identified as a key
challenge, the management of assets and unused inventory. The
selected supplier would also need to custom-build a user-friendly
interface to provide ondemand reporting across core business
divisions.
With an annual spend of £3m on fixed voice alone, they had no
visibility or control and required a complete transformation of
their entire IP and PBX telecoms process.
The Solution:
Following a thorough evaluation of the marketplace, the company
selected Soft-ex Optimiser TEM, for both its footprint in the
marketplace as well as its user-friendly desktop application and
diversity of functionality. They are already enjoying the benefits
of Optimiser TEM to handle the demands and increase the efficiency
of their growing, multi-channel, international business.
Soft-ex was selected as the preferred vendor providing these key
business benefits:
• OnDemand complementary and innovative solution for the
organisation’s outsourced telecoms service wrap
• Centralised invoice validation and reconciliation
• Dispute resolution
• Identification of unused but charged for inventory
• Chargeback analysis across 50 sites
• Management of multiple carriers and tariffs
• Centralised fixed line call management reporting providing cost,
infrastructure and performance reporting
• Customised user-friendly interface across legacy and IP
infrastructure
• Adherence to strict security policy
• Easy implementation and fast roll-out.
According to the client ‘Soft-ex were instrumental in assisting
in the turnaround and we are now using the entire business
intelligence suite provided by Soft-ex in a seamlessly integrated
environment’. The ability of Optimiser TEM to apportion cost to
business units is a major plus and we are now a step closer to
understanding which divisions are costing the most.
Optimiser TEM is already proving to be extremely effective for
their business optimisation and has shown an ROI in less than 6
months. The service is operating across the majority of UK divisions
in over 50 sites and took only 4 months to rollout.
