The Company:
The client is a premier global defence and aerospace company delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, information technology solutions and customer support services. With 97,500 employees worldwide, their sales exceeded £15.7 billion (US$ $31.4 billion) in 2007. They rank as the 3rd largest global defence company with customers in over 100 countries.

The Challenge:
The key requirement for this enterprise customer was to source an advanced telecom expense and usage management solution to create a more efficient business model to:
• reduce the cost of ongoing telecoms operations
• create visibility
• apportion costs to business units
• improve customer service
• enhance infrastructure performance
• maintain a secure voice network in a centralised hosted environment.

Specifically they required one solution to review high volumes of multiple carrier invoices and charge them back across the entire organisation in an accurate and equitable manner. The client required validation and reconciliation capabilities for their carrier bill management. They had also identified as a key challenge, the management of assets and unused inventory. The selected supplier would also need to custom-build a user-friendly interface to provide ondemand reporting across core business divisions.

With an annual spend of £3m on fixed voice alone, they had no visibility or control and required a complete transformation of their entire IP and PBX telecoms process.
